Got called to a fault at commercial premises yesterday and thought i would share what i found.
The initial call was to an isolator which was worn and kept going off so did the usual isolation and was a bit confused as breaker was single phase and isolator was tp&n,
took cover off and found out originally it was a 16a three phase supply and the machine was replaced with a 32a single phase version (think you know whats coming).
It was 2.5 singles run in pvc conduit 3xred with cpc. two red's doubled up and red and cpc doubled for neutral, the earth was hopped off another circuit nearby. The funny bit about it was the sparks altering it had sleeved the reds with brown tape and the black & cpc with blue.
The board was only three metres away so could have changed it easy, why do these people bother.

I should have said this was done by a large electrical company but i mention no names, but if your reading this, i got your number.
Gave me a laugh at the time but then had to think of a way to explain to the client.
