What I'd like to know is how much it's cost the public purse to get to this stage and when are the guys who have stuck their neck out to be prepared for it going to be compensated? It's pv all over again but more complicated and more regulated, meanwhile millions are still in fuel poverty. Makes my blood boil!

The scheme isn't exactly helped by press reports like this:

I agree but if they'd made the scheme understandable in the first place and easy to implement they wouldn't be getting this sort of press. No-one to blame but themselves.

we have already thought about renovations through the green deal too to save on cash flow but if it improves the property then it will get accepted
