So nearly a month in to the green deal. Looked into it but seems like it's stalled.

What are your thoughts on it. Seems a good thing if all the bugs get sorted

I wanted to think the GD was good business opportunity however it just doesn't stack up !! Why do you need a GDA to tell you you need new windows or boiler....charge you £100 for doing so then get an over priced GDI then charge a silly interest rates.....! not to mention all the other daft claim the savings would pay for the loan, even if your consumption decreases.

I discovered a new purpose for Green Deal on Saturday. We went to look at a house that needs full renovation. We have enough capital to buy it but will run out of cash when doing the renovations - light bulb moment - Green Deal it - that'll pay for the insulation, heating & windows leaving us with enough cash to do the rest. Sell/rent it with the GD or if the worst comes to the worst settle the GD early and use it as cashflow.

So Sedgy & ECO just in case you hadn't thought about that target market - it looks viable to me - we considered it to help with cashflow.

As for the rest of Green Deal - as Julian says a load of *******s!

Indeed SRE I said this is loop hole for a while, also potentially passing on the debt to the new purchaser whilst pocketing the profit it's wrong but right in a business sense ! :-)

~Sedgy as been barred from the forum he told me today! sorry to hear that as he was a long serving member......

The green deal as lots of bugs and I am banging my head some days. but its a good scheme and even better with eco funding !

He is only on a 7 day ban, from what I gather.

I think it was persistent and unrepentant breaking of the swearing rule which got him his ban.

Latest available stats for green Deal as of 14th Feb :

Green Deal Advisor Reports - 315
Green Deal Advisors fully registered 250 - 300 with another 300 following behind closely
So despite the soft launch in October providing a build up for the official launch on the 28th JAn after 2.5 weeks there's still only one job per fortnight for the Green Deal Assessors, soon to be one a month if the figures continue like this.
No figures for Green Deal plans yet.

When do you expect this to have had all its bugs worked out and to be up and running properly.

What I'd like to know is how much it's cost the public purse to get to this stage and when are the guys who have stuck their neck out to be prepared for it going to be compensated? It's pv all over again but more complicated and more regulated, meanwhile millions are still in fuel poverty. Makes my blood boil!

So I'm back from a ban!! For swearing?? What a joke!!!
SRE
we have already thought about renovations through the green deal too to save on cash flow but if it improves the property then it will get accepted
