Hi all
We are quoting on our first ground mount system. Is there a general rule of thumb for the distance that should be between two rows to avoid shading on second row? I have heard 1.6 X height of first row? Can anyone confirm this for us?
Thanks

Manufacturers of mounting systems may give guidance.
Mid winter's sun only rises about 15 degrees above the horizon (Bristol figure) so that would be a starting point for working out a distance

That's the equivalent of 32 degrees... Ar you talking about row spacing or the gap between the rows? If the gap, then it's probably Ok for estimate.

However you should do proper calcs otherwise the shading issue will be horrendous.

PV*Sol will do it for you and the Schletter tool will do it also (the Schletter one is free!)
