Sorry if its been covered but cant find a lot.

I'm after some budget costings for a 16 panel ground mount system for a client. I need a single rig to take all 16 panels (4x4 landscape). I've got the schletter paperwork but as its only budget costs at the moment and we haven't even decided on a definate panel make I cant send a solid design for them to quote from.

I could do with a modular system with prices so I can get a rough idea as to cost as there are other options if ground mount proves expensive.

If it's 4 x 4 do they want a tracker system?

If so the output goes up by about 23% and the pice by about 20% (makes sense!)

Give Richard at Wind and Sun a call on Monday, Wind & Sun - Solar trackers - Deger, Lorentz they do an excellent tracker by Lorrentz which might do it for you.

Thanks for that, its a good site, I'll save it for future reference.

I was just after a static rig really. The client has a due south facing sun trap in their garden with no shading.

Richard can do that for you as well.

Whats the skinny on trackers Worcester? everything I've read says the UK just doesnt have the capacity factor (clear skies) to make them work. Are they worth the effort? do they stack with the increase in maintenance?

All depends upon the situation, certainly at 50kWp with someone living next door to the field so is looking at the *** things and walking past them daily so able to spot a sticky one, the extra output for single axis trackers does appear to add up financially.

We have developed a special install method (my Civil Engineering background coming to play again!) that actually makes installation incredibly quick, simple and cost effective, and that could be where a lot of others are failling the test, they can be horrendously expensive to install bearing in mind the potential wind loads, especially overturning.

So depending upon the site specifics they can occassionally make sense (financial sense that is! )

Hi Solartecpv,

I can offer a very simple system from ClickFit.

If you can PM me which modules you intend to use and some details on your company, I would be delighted to reply with a quotation for the parts.

I look forward to your response.

Best Regards,
Christopher
