Its good to asking a tech question rather than talk about FITs!

I have been to look at a job on where the panels will be ground mounted using Renusol Consoles. The array will be 10 to 12 metres from the property. The owner has asked for the inverter to be located in the garage. The fun bit is safely connecting between two rows of consoles and bringing the strings underground to the garage. I have been looking for flexible armoured conduit and only found any in the U.S. Has anyone any ideas or experience of this or know of a suitable supplier?

In many ways the easiest thing is to mount the inverter beside the panels and run SWA. Would still need safe connection/cable protection between the two rows of consoles.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

If you read the regs regarding an underground cable it specifically says:
'Except where installed in a conduit or duct which provides equivalent protection against mechanical damage, a cable buried in the groundshall incorporate an earthed armour'

So maybe you can get away with using something other than armour cable if you provide enough mechanical protection, eg, ducting + paving slabs (maybe)

SWA DC runs into an IP65 joint box with solar cable tails coming out, just make sure the array mounts are all bonded etc etc, don't forget to check on PME regs for connecting external metalwork to MET
