Hey there, just a quick question before i wire all these spot lights.
Iv got a 1.5 T and E fed by a 10 bs60898 would that be enough to supply 20 x 50w GU10 spot lights?

50 x 20 = 1000
1000/230 = 4.34 amp

is that correct?

thanks again

Your calcs are correct, assuming that this is the only load on that circuit.

The 1.5 T&E is fine unless the effects of bunching, thermal insulation and ambient temperature bring its installed current rating below that of the breaker.

just be careful of surge currents when these lights are switched........ dont say didnt warn ya. ... they can pull maybe 5 times when starting(... maybe could lower the breaker and change to type c.... ive had to do it recently.... but the 10A could be ok but as im sure you know the type c should fix this problem if does happen.. providing your zs complies.....
