hi not a very technical question i know but installing 7 gu10 led bathroom lights , customer wants dimmer two gang located outside bathroom , anyone got a good make of dimmer they know for me to put in ?

thanks phil

Your best bet woul dbe contact manufacturer of the lamps and ask which ones they advise to use with them. Seem to be some conflicting info on which type for different fittings and lamps.

hi thanks customer is getting them himself so ill wait for him to tell me arrived and the find out what lamps thanks

agree with dill. if dimming 2 banks check min rating of dimmer. if customer supplying fittings, might be wise to get them to source dimmer as if you supply 'wrong' dimmer, could damage lights they supplied.
for scolmore we use varilight (about ÂŁ20ish for 2g) edit; if scolmore not suitable

Hi Phil,

I put a similar thread up recently http://www.electriciansforums.co.uk...railing-edge-leading-edge-led-downlights.html

I came to the conclusion that a Trailing Edge dimmer is going to be better for LED's. I fitted this one LED Dimmer Switch - 1 Gang 2 Way - White - LED Dimmer Switches - Drivers, Fittings & Switches

and it worked fine. I did get a bit of a flicker when they were turned down REALLY low, but the manufacturers instructions explained how to remedy this just by playing with the controls on the switch. However the customer was not bothered at all!

Screwfix do this one which would also be fine: Varilight Trailing Edge Push Dimmer 2G 1/2W 2 x 250W/VA | Dual Voltage | Screwfix.com

Good luck..
