Hi all

I've just fitted GU10 13w low energy lights to my kitchen and find that they take about 3 minutes to warm up. They start with a very dim light which is completely useless first thing in these dark mornings when I need to get out to work quickly. They are very bright when up and running. They are also very white in colour, i'd prefer a softer yellow light as the rest of the house has yellow tinge low energy bayonet cap fittings, these start up fine. What is other peoples experience with these lamps? I would really like something which would start with a reasonable brightness at least, I don't mind a little warm up time. Can anyone reccomend a brand in particular?

regards

Jonny

Try just one of these first, they are classed as 'warm' white but are still a little stark, I find they light up really quickly!

Screwfix part number 69626 pop that in their search box!

If you have a local screwfix store, order the 1 lamp, try it out and if its crap take it back stating its not 'warm' white at all !!! Screwfix have a really good returns policy so dont damage the packet!

Tesco have energy efficient bulbs on offer at the moment. 5 for a quid. or twenty p each to the layman. stocked up on a load for my house they are very good quality and are a warm white and brighten up pretty sharpish. bit of a bargain i thought as they seem to be about 3 quid each everywhere else.
