Whats the score on having these in a lantern. Now the lantern obviously has load baring beams either side, so drilling holes into the beams for downlights I thought would be a bit iffy? Though I have seen it a fair few times. Also, sticking in 50W lamps. Surly this is a fire hazard as they get rather hot and are in a confined space (cut out for the downlight)

Depends on the buildings construction If your concerned about heat build up fit LED'S

might just have to. though, last time I saw some led's they where pretty naff lol

Make sure you get cree led's and use led drivers as opposed to 240v gu10
