Hi guys question I wont to remove the backbord that my electric meter and fuse box are fitted to. Im not looking to remove the meter or the fuse box I just need to get behind the backbord. Now my question is this.

I know I have to remove the main fuse but how do I go about refitting the main fuse with out getting a zap is it just push back in.?

Thanks for any help

you should not really be pulling fuses!!! but if it happens to fall out remove it when there is no load on the circuits! i.e all MCB OFF / Main Switch OFF then remove it...!

when replacing it ensure the same as above all circuits are off and no you wont get a zap unless the fuse carrier crumbles under your touch due to age!

Thanks M8 I not long had a new meter fitted as the old one was a card meter so I take it the fuse is ok I dont use much elec I try to keep my foot print down as much as I can. I did not know at the time but I think the guy that fitted the Meter all so undid my door bell its carzy door bell it on the main power. Now I have wires poking out the back this is what I wont to fix or remove.

So turn the fuse box off first so if it does fall out it will be safe

Thanks m8

it will only spark if it sees a load.as durham says, turn off main switch in CU. if you then get a spark, next door must be tapped in to your supply

I'm really sorry mate but you don't seem to me to have much understanding of electrical installation. That isn't meant to be derogatory - I don't know a thing about genetic science or Eastenders!

If you aren't sure about what you're doing, please don't do it!

You cant "move the meter " without removing the seals on same hence rendering yourself libal for prosecution as for moving the cable head this is a job for the DNO I also cant beleive guys here advising you to "just "do this and that ffs

CALL a local QUALIFIED electrician at least if you get this wrong its not a "Zap" you will get its a coffin you may need
