Is anyone else waiting on the new Hager Design 30 boards? I've been waiting for 8 weeks now for 2 boards and am just trying to ascertain if the fault is at Hager or at the wholesalers. The wholesalers avoid the question when I ask for the order number and Hager don't reply to my emails! The customer is cheesed off and so am I.

Does anyone know the name of the MD at Hager UK I can feel an impolite telephone call coming!

My wholesalers only have Wylex (two flavours) on the shelves, no Hager, no Crabtree and no MK. They are not going to order in any more plastic ones either. I've been waiting about eight weeks as well. Crazy isn't it.

I only just managed to get hager prices off from wholesaler last week. The delay is all with Hager according to them. they have no idea when they can get them in at all.
Schneider are available now but they look bloody awful.

Thanks for the swift replies guys. I had prices back in Feb! I can't stand Wylex stuff and have to agree that the Schneider boards are pretty ugly. What really peeves me is that when the wholesalers placed the order Hager said 2 weeks! Customer can't move back into the house and I can't finish the rewire. The customer won't accept an older type board either so its a bit of a catch 22 situation!

I normally fit MK, only so I could hide those horrid labels on the inside of the lid. Having to fit Wylex, cos that's all I can get at the moment (customer decided on metal). Wylex doesn't look too bad, and are available. Once all the major brands are available, I will decide on which to use (as with all you'll be able to hide the labels!). Must say Hager seems to have put some thought into the design, not just making a metal box for its mcb etc to sit in.

read up mate, metal boards dont need to be used till jan 2016. it says so in the byb

Yes I agree, but there is all sorts of nonsense being banded about regarding BS61439 aka BS60439; whether or not an assembly is fireproof.
Whether there should be intumescent sealing around entry holes.
Whether the cause of domestic fires are due to poor connections and those connections stem at the service head rather than the inability for a plastic enclosure is able to contain the consequence of a crap connection.

Can't see how anything can change in the short term?

i'm sure my local CEF (darlington) has them in. I think they are around the ÂŁ90 mark WITH NO MCBs!. I wont be using them until i have to as it is hard enough selling DB changes as it is. As a new business i need all the work i can get, charging an extra ÂŁ50+ for a DB will not help. as much as i would like to start complying with the new regs early i know my competition won't.

Give the customer the option.
