Hi all, towards the back end of last year we installed a new modular building to be used as a village hall. The spec required split metering, (power on one meter, lighting on the other). so we fitted a hager split metered TP&N DB. Recently the clients have had their electric bill stating they used 4thousand units, however the total units on both meter kits is just under 3thousand, I know your elec providers are usually out by a few units, but not over a thousand. So we rang hager support and they said the metering kits aren't accurate enough for metering, which did surprise me, has anyone else had this problem or seen anything similar?

Surely you could check the DNO's meter?
i assume the customer did check the DNO meter, and just rung us to enquire as to why the meters we fit are 1000units out. I've not really had a lot to do with the issue to be fair, just wondering if it was normal for them to be out.

To be fair, until Stu's reply I didn't really realise that meters had gradings, although it does make sense.

Could still be used to give the client an idea of percentage of the actual units used on each part of the installation. Obviously not the greatest but might still prove useful in the mean time?
