I'm looking for a solution for 10 downlighters in a lathe and plaster kitchen ceiling with a new plaster board laid across the top of it.

After reading up on these I'm thinking the one to go for is MLED 7W (JCC Fireguard) anyone had any experience of these good or bad. I notice that there is a feeling that GU10 with dimmers is the way to go, is that halogen?

Can I use dimmers on MLED's?

all a matter of personal preference. GU10's cheapest option, but they get very hot. LED's are a crisper light but not as bright, but no heat and low power consumption, and they cost upwards of ÂŁ15 per lamp.

I had noticed the price drawback, but the lifecycle appears higher has anyone had an MLED blow?

I've just found a article to say that MLED's can be used with standard dimmers.

bigest problem with the LED's idea is great but they just dont give out enough light and are very directional ,if i was installing lights i would use the firerated robus fittings GU 10 with a compact flourescent 14 watt they do get warm but no where near as hot as halogens , if you do go for halogens go for the heat forward type this was the heat to the back of the fitting is reduced
