hello
hi all im looking at buying a hand held pat tester, looking at the metrel gamma pat mi 1331 lite.whats your views on these testers, mainly doing rental properties.

I got the kewtech KT71 bundle and it was a good deal great carry case plenty extras as I do the odd PAT fo a couple of letting agents and also private landlord

The Metrel Gamma PAT is one of the best hand held testers on the market, unlike most battery powered testers it's able to do a high current (25A) earth continuity test of Class 1 equipment. It should be suitable for your requirement. If you are later tempted to take on work for the MOD, NHS, Local Authorities, BT, Fire or Police etc. it may not be, as these larger institutions are increasingly asking for run tests to be carried out in addition to the basic tests. Also note that the testing of medical equipment requires a special type of PAT.

thanks for advice,i just bought one fron flee bay for 250 with 12 mnths cert (im happy),i used a seaward primetest 100,rented it for 70 notes a day from hss hire.was ok but a bit glitchy, kept turning itself off n i had to mess around with the battries all the time.i did want the seaward 220 or 250 but was out my price range.thanks again for advice
