Bit of an odd ball question but what or which do you find the best or most comfortable hard hats to where especially long periods of time, the ones we got are a bit heavy and not the most comfortable

Centurion reduced peak for me.

At around a tenner they are not the cheapest but if you are wearing one all day they are worth the extra IMO

very much a try it n see one Arco have a good selection It may also help descision if you can
add accessories Muffs Visors ect to helmet
Personaly I perfer a "V" Gaurd cant mind the maker as it has webbing inside
Being a nudenut doesnt help me with hats as they rub n cause me grief I have found a bandana type thingy bit like a stocking but it causes its own problems with sweating ect but at least I havent got but sores on top oif my nut

Like look of them especially cut down peak can see what you are doing better going to have a word with the powers that be and get them to supply

Had to laugh today on site bt or openreach turned up with their hats with a strap under the chin like my cycle helmet looked like the centurion ones actually,

Can you get on site wearing one of these?

I worked for Balfours and they certainly wouldn't allow it and another site pulled a couple of lads for wearing their hard hats backwards lol

Sometimes we did used to reverse our hard hats when banking cranes and watching loads but it used to get us in to trouble even for very short periods of time whilst a load was in the air;)

Management get very particular don't they, can't even take a glove off to pick your nose or your protective glasses to wipe a tear from your eye ha ha

Personally I prefer a bump cap, but I do a lot of Commercial kitchens so I can get away with it, but if I have to wear a Hardhat then the Centurion does it.

many moons ago it was

yellow labourers/groundworkers

white sparks /boss

blue paint /plaster trades

woolly hat joiners

but now its what ever you can get free from the last site with the main contractor embellished across it

Thanks
Been away for a few years.
I've got a helmet and just got my IPAF. 3a 3b so just have to buy a Harness and Hi-vis
I know it doesen't make me a better spark.
I've just been made redundant from the security industry after 24 yrs as a service engineer.
I wish I'd pulled out sooner, as thinking back I wondered where the last 24 years went.
Wish I'd stayed a Spark.......
Any way back to the job hunting days...........
