Hating remedials

You know when you have that feelings,can’t be bothered,just rewire.
Am I really gonna take every fitting off to put green sleeving on,& try to fit grommets.
Whats your feeling on this.
Its obvious remedials & mentioned on the report.

Thought no grommets were a C 3 if cables in plaster.

Agree,it’s on the list given to the client...ridiculous.

Most reports I see don't make it clear to the recipient that there is no real need to remedy code 3 defects. A lot of money is being wasted on remedials which will make no appreciable difference to the safety of an installation.

I don't even code no grommets unless signs of cable damage. It does get a mention on the report as a comment for future reference.

trying to push grommets in after the boxes are plastered in is a right old faff and they rarely stay in place...
same as trying to clip cables in the loft that run across diagonally , never enough slack to clip properly

I will try giving them a really hard yank next time , I’m sure I can get a bit of stretch on them if I pull hard enough ...
