Great Yarmouth College

It says 'Update BS7671' in the description.

When i did the update course not long back it was 8hrs tutoring then a 1hr exam.It was also only a quarter of the cost of this course advertised here as well.

The difference in pricing at colleges can be quite big. It's worth having a look around.

17th Edition Update BS 7671: 2008

Level: 3

Course code: 04125

Cost: ÂŁ290

This course, also known as the 17th Edition update, is primarily designed for electricians who qualified under earlier editions of BS 7671 and now wish to update their knowledge of the regulations to the current standard. This course is suitable for candidates who wish to achieve either a City & Guilds 2382-10 Full 17th Edition Update or a City & Guilds 2382-20 16th to 17th Edition Update qualification.

Candidates who wish to take the City & Guilds 2382-20 16th to 17th Edition Update examination will be required produce proof of existing qualifications which entitle them to take this examination, rather than the City & Guilds 2382-10 Full 17th Edition Update examination.

The course takes place over eight weeks, on Tuesday and/or Wednesday evenings between 7.00pm and 9.00pm. Qualification is by completion of an online multiple-choice examination.

Course requirements: Whilst not a requirement for the course, it is recommended that you obtain the following publication prior to participation in the course:

 • IEE Requirements for Electrical Installations, 17th Edition (BS 7671: 2008)

You will need a clean (un-annotated) copy of this publication to take the on-line examination, which is an open-book examination. You will also need an electronic calculator.

The following publication would also be useful

 • IEE On-Site Guide, 17th Edition

this is the fact sheet

I did my 17th ed full course straight after I did my 2330 L3 at the same college. The exam + 3 evening sessions cost us ÂŁ100 total.

I had my doubts that 3 sessions was going to be enough, but I only got 2 questions wrong in the exam so it certainly was enough.

I reckon we got a good deal.
