hello all,,

just wondering if any of you has ever joined the cooker and hob together running of the same 40A mcb??

i have seen this befor with gas hobs but not electric.

now i know that any thing over 2kw should be on its own cct..... but have any of you done it??

would this be ok if both applicances was under the 40A load?

i know it not good practice but just wondering so dont bite

Yes, done it before on a 32A supply with a big induction and oven. Only things you have to remember is the isolator for the appliances have to be within 2m of each appliance if isolated from the same point. Also, diversity = first 10A of total load + 30% of remaining load (+5A if a cooker control panel with a socket is fitted) is the magic number for designing the circuit if you are to do this. The Click cooker outlets with 2 sets of outputs are great for this sort of job.

so it not breaking any regulations? on isolating individualy? does any one know the max amp rating a 6mm can take of the top of there head? i think its only about a 15m run in floor boards. i havnt got a osg with me

Work to 32A, i know clipped direct and in perfect conditions you're talking about 41A top end but thats top end. It would help if you could tell us what the kW rating of both appliances is.

i dont know as they have not told me yet! i always run a new 6mm for electric hobs i would think the cooker was about 8kw and hob 5ish?

that's 25A using diversity. (30A with a S/O)6mm will stand 47A clipped direct. well in.
