Hello i hope this forum can help me with this. i own a little start up bar catering company and i have been having problems running my blenders. I have four vita prep 3 3 hp blenders. my problems is that i cannot turn two of them on the same time if i am at an event. is there some thing that i can build with the help of a electrician of course that can somehow amplify the voltage so that the blenders would get the power they need to run that i cant carry around also. i was at this event and these guys had what looked like the main power switch that turns on the electricity to your house attached to a plywood on rollers. it also had a breaker box on it. is that some thing that i would need.

I am assuming that you are in the US because of the blender make.

Each blender is probably 1.5kW and you would need a power supply that can deliver therefore 6kW, which would be a 50A supply (at 120V).

You do not say how you are powering the blenders at the moment, is it from a generator or is it from the event supplied power?

If from a generator then you would need a fairly large generator to supply that power level and you may have to look at using some lower power blenders for events.

If you are using event supplies, I am not certain for the US but in the UK the likely supply would be a 3.5kW but you should be able to ask for a larger supply to your stall (which may cost more).

The device you describe for the other eventers would be a sort of portable breaker panel, probably intended to connect to an external supply, but possibly for circuit protection for supply from their own generator. This would be useful to have but would not affect the power available.
