My 10 quid head torch from fleabay has died so I need a replacement, just not sure whether to buy cheap again or whether it's worth splashing out on a decent on.

I've been told the LED Lensor's are the dogs but at £30+ not sure whether it's going to be 20-25 quid better than my old one?!

Advice appreciated.

I use a Led Lenser H14 and it's a cracking piece of kit, light weight and powerful. I can thoroughly recommend it, yet to see anything on the market that comes close. it's definitely more than £25 better than the Energiser 6 LED head torch I previously used, or the Energiser 3 CREE LED version my college bought. So much so, he has now ordered an H14R (rechargeable version).

I use a cree head torch (300 lumens) its identical to the lenser but costs less. the one i have is rechargeable too. I also have a normal cree which is 1000 lumens

ive had my energiser one for years. always have it on when doing eicr's...which is what i do mostly. never let me down. i only use it to see what i'm doing/writing. if it was too bright the relection off surfaces would blind me.
don't like the look of the led Lenser ones...don't like the rear battery pack idea.

Led Lenser H14R for me. Extremely bright and battery lasts a good few hours. Recharge time is quite long but still obviously works out cheaper than batteries. Normal AA batteries can also be used.

Buy the Led Lenser H14, they are fantastic! Had mine for over a year without any problems - and it's taken some real stick. Fed up buying the cheap crap, which is why I decided on the H14 - absolutely no regrets.

Don't buy rubbish as its very important we see as best as we can on our job. You can get them cheaper on eBay and then legitimately claim (20% off) against tax as business equipment.
