I need to have one for the next assessment the GOV.UK site has one which is a joke all I have to do is repeat myself over and over basically just entering my name as i am a sole trader does anybody have a suggestion were I can download one that actually makes sense,

Are you with Select? When I did my assessment with them in August they said I didn't need a Health and Safety policy as I am a sole trader.

HSE guidance says-

"If you have fewer than five employees you don’t have to write down your risk assessment or your health and safety policy."

That may be correct but the schemes may require you to have one as part of their conditions of enrolment.

I found this one in my files (somewhat modified to make sense), I also found the .gov one as well and I agree with your assessment.
