Health & Safety Nonsense

I think we should start a thread on crazy H&S situations? ....for our own education of course.

Here's a starter.

I've just rebuilt my house and during the construction I did get a handful of visits from the local council clipboard man. They were the usual miserable duffers who were looking to find fault and often went away disappointed. However, towards the end a guy turned up and spent 5 minutes walking up and down the road cones outside the property (there to reserve road space for turning lorries). Regulation orange and silver cones.

He called in to the site and asked for me. He then told me I had to remove the road cones as they were a trip hazard.

Am I missing something here?

We spent an hour with a health and safety man in an office we've worked at for years.. filling in Work Permits, Risk assesments and Method Statements..... The job took 5 minuets.
Oh and during the "Induction" he asked me the following question..

"When you isolate a circuit, you will check that its dead before you work on it won't you?"
