Someone I know requires a heat detector to be fitted in their kitchen because they are renting the house out. It would fit onto the lighting circuit.
Is this notifiable?

Also, emergency lighting, connected to the existing lighting circuit, is it notifiable? This would be in hallways etc.

Any work carried out in a kitchen is notifiable, even minor works, so heat detector needs to be notified.

Emergency lighting is as Telectrix said above.

Be carefull fitting just a heat detector,I believe they should not be used, without being linked to other types of detector.ionisation or optical

if they already have smoke detectors, you could just link in with a 3core.

But that would still be notifiable?

It's the local council that have said the work has to be done, I'm sure they'll be checking everything!
Along with the fire extinguishers that have to be fitted and the emergency lighting!
Bit of a joke just to rent out a house!

so, speak to the local council. ask them their requirements as regards notification.
