Can anyone recommend a heat loss calculation software?

Try using STARS on the Stelrad website.

If you need to be MCS compliant download the MCS Heat Pump spreadsheet and watch the on-line training videos on how to use it (its in the resources section)

that software was down on the MCS site last night for some reason

I wouldn't use the MCS Online software it's carp, and last time I looked at it you couldn't download etc etc, "Please note that the software does not currently have a "save" function available. It is important to save a PDF copy of any results as you will not be able to retrieve the data once you exit the software. " So pretty much a waste of space.

The one I meant was the spreadsheet, (Heat Pump section) Microgeneration Certification Scheme - Heat Pumps
It will work just fine with OpenOffice (free )
