hi,

is it possible to spur of a ring circuit twice, then after each spur go through a 20amp db switch with 2.5 twin and earth then a thermostat with a 16 amp 230v rating to a 3kw over door heater? i would then be controlling each heater with a seperate thermostat as the load of both would be to much for one.

thanks, any ideas?

not mr know it all yet, but you can spur as many times you want , long as you wont be overloading and i think they reccoment sparate circuits for 3kw, il wait to see what others say. and gd luck

must say, i wouyld definitely either install a separate ring for both, or 2 radials, 1 for each.

currently pricing 2kw. my other choice was to change the 3kw heaters to 2kw heaters for less load, unfortunetly cant install new ring or radial, 50 metres from fuse board, they wont pay expense for cable

end of the day, your name will be on the job. if they won't pay to have it done right, walk away.

spurring of a ring of sockets in a sprots hall which u can imagine they are very rarely used atal? was thinking of two sperate spurs each with 13amp fused spurs then thermostat then 2kw panel heater, all in 2.5mm twin and earth?

If the other sockets are little used....then I cant see 2 x 2kw heaters independantly controlled being a problem.I would be reluctant to go to 3kw though as that would leave very little capacicity on the ring....in the end telectrix is right though, only use the existing circuit if you are sure there will be no overloading issues.
