Hi there,

I have a Heatmiser UH2 installed in my house to provide underfloor heating to two zones in my living room. These are controlled by 2 Heatmiser DS1 controllers, one for each area.

The underfloor heating worked last year, however when we turned this on yesterday only one area heated up. Both of the thermostats lit with with a red LED to say they were heating.
I did a full investigation and after several hours I realised that the area that is not heating up is sending a signal to the Heatmiser UH2 when the thermostat is turned on, however when this signal is received the Heatmiser UH2 clicks and light briefly comes on before immediately switching off. The red LED on the thermostat stays on.

Can you please help as we need heating for my 9 month old boy!

Thanks in advance

Mark

Silly question mate but can't you ring the person who installed it?
Hope you get it sorted.

Unfortunately it is not really possible to tell from a distance what is wrong.
There are various possibilities.
Assuming that this is water underfloor heating and not electric mats.
One is that the valve controlling that heating zone is not opening (or the switch on the valve is not working) so that when the thermostat says ON, the valve says stop.
One is that there is an electrical fault in the wiring causing the UH2 to pull too much current through that connection and so cut outs would operate.
another is that the UH2 may be faulty and not switching over, though since you get a brief light on the UH2 not so likely.

However this is all conjecture and I am afraid on site testing would be the way forward here.
