Hi all,

I’m Myles, I’m 27 and I’m from Kent.

I currently spend my days in a stuffy office putting up with some pretty hellish people being bored out of my mind and hating every minute of it!! lol

I have recently been warned of redundancies at work in the near future, and this has got me seriously thinking about what I really want to do with my work/life.

I am a fairly practical person and like to get stuck in to what ever I do. I have always been interested in the building trade, and have always regretted not getting into something like that when I left School.

I am particularly interested in electrical work as I have friends in the trade and have spent some time around them working, but have little to know experience in this field myself so this would be a huge change for me.

I have been reading through some of the threads on here, and have found them really interesting (Already learning a lot!!). My hope is that I will pick up a bit more info from the people frequenting these forums who are experienced and knowledgeable in this subject.

Myles

Welcome Miles, stick around,it can be entertaining as well as informative
If you do enter the trade any knowledge gained can only be of help

Hi Miles,

Welcome to the forum; one advice I can give you if you are interested in electricity just go for it cause it's a fantastic science!

I completly agree, everything I read and have seen on the subject is fantastic. Its a daunting thought at the moment because at 27 years old with no qualifications or training in this area I have a hell of a long way to go, but I'm sure it will be all worth it!!!!!!!
