I thought this would be the best place to say hi and introduce myself.

About me 32 years old field service technician with 12 years of work experience in various electrical roles (240volt & 12volt)

Main back ground is in automotive but currently ive been working on x-ray equipment

Currently I do not have any formal qualifications, I hope to change that within the new year.

Im looking for some advice on relevant courses that are available online that id be able to do while fully employed.

Or ideally a course that I am able to study and do the theory online and then attend workshops a week at a time to gain the practical experience I would need.

Welcome to the forum.
It sounds like you have your education route planned out already, so if this is what you want then go for it.
I would suggest trying to find some practical real world experience as well along the way unless your current job is providing this.
If you have someone at your current work who is doing the things you want to learn about perhaps you could ask if you could provide some assistance at times?

Hi Kyle, Richard & Pete

Thank you for the warm welcome :)

Unfortunately Richard the current Job role I have is a field based role, it takes me away from home and out of the country quite a bit. I am more than happy to take time off work and work with a sparky to gain relevant experience and display my competency while completing any relevant modules.

A few people have mentioned college as an option but college doesn’t fit in with my current job as I am out of the country more often than not.

I’m in the Bedfordshire Cambridgeshire area if anyone on here is looking for a trade assistant part time.
