Westy, from what I can find out the ELT1 is an 'Extension Lead Test' lead. I can't find any photos but I've found the description as 'The ELT1 accessory allows extension leads both 110 V,. 240 V and IEC mains leads to be tested. It performs Lead. Polarity, Earth Bond and Insulation Tests'.
The PAT32 is quite a basic tester without an IEC socket so all I can assume is you would plug one end of the extension lead into the BS1362 socket and the ELT1 plugs into the extension or has an IEC socket and then that returns via the 110v socket?

I Googled it but found nothing and presumed it was the bonding lead as they were prone to failing.

I found the ELT2 with a mention of the ELT1 but can't find any specs or pictures to compare them or whether the ELT2 does supersede the ELT1

All I can find about the ELT2 is it doesn't do polarity. Th ELT1 does. If you do find one for sale I would assume due to rarity it would be expensive. Personally I would dump the PAT32 and buy a 2nd hand Supernova. Far better tester but a lot heavier. It's also downloadable which can make reports easier.

I came across a Megger document that implied the ELT2 was the version for the French and German market, presumably because of differing standards, but it probably does the same job (apart from 'polarity'!).

Having scoured the internet, I think your chances of finding an ELT1 within the next few months are close to zero.

From what I can deduce the ELT1 seems to have a male C14 connector in which to plug your lead under test (perhaps plugging the ELT into the PAT32 13A socket, and then both ends of the lead under test into the ELT(?), and also connecting the ground lead of the ELT to the PAT, and then running through the pre-set tests on the PAT.
It's no doubt possible for someone to devise a circuit diagram to mimic the necessary ELT function(s), but if you made one, not being a Megger 'approved' part, that could create a legal liability problem for anyone doing safety testing with it. I don't know where you would stand with Calibration.

The PAT 32 is a product from the late 1980's and was made obsolete in 2014 (I believe) and is no longer supported. Whether it conducts tests in line with current requirements I know not.

I think Moley's suggestion of replacing it is the way ahead.
