Hi there, I'm Mike, an electronics engineer by day and a DIY fiend by night - well, not so much nights now - weekends mostly! I'm happy doing most DIY stuff - but not gas and nothing to do with anything electrical that I can't isolate by an MCB or the main switch. Plastering is a no-no, but don't have to do a lot of that normally.
I do have a question which I will post shortly...and I'm happy to answer any electronics type questions if you have any. Cheers!

welcome to the forum, have you had a look at element14 for electronics?

im sure the mods etc will give you permissions soon for the diy section
