hi everyone just after some advice i am just about to complete my third year as an apprentice and have just been told i am being made redundant does anybody know if you can take the am2 test early? as i would not be able to complete the site assessments without a job. thanks to anyone that can help.

It sucks that your being made redundant mate, speak to your college about it but I got entered for my AM2 once my site assessments and NVQ level 3 had all been handed in.

You need to try your hardest to find another job even if u take a pay cut with someone else coz the funding stops from the training scheme providers after a certain amount of weeks after your unemployed. It would be a shame to waste the final year, but then again thinkin about it, if your in your 3rd year u should have already finished shouldn't u?

An Apprenticeship is four years.

I think once you have entered fourth year you can enter for the AM2, which is also required for the NVQ Level 3. However, I believe your employer has to book the AM2 for you.

Best of luck.
