Hi All

Really would like some advice, and think this forum is the best place to get answers.

Lets start from the beginning......

I am a 37 year old fed up restaurant manager who has been looking into a career in becoming a electrician for the last 6 months.

I applied for a course at my local college back in April of this year to find out only last week that all places are filled and I am on the waiting list for next year!

So my next option was looking online at any courses I can do locally, part time around my current job.

Now this is where I need the help and advice, what courses online are legit. Most I have come across seem alright but I feel they are just after your money. Have any of you guys applied for this courses online? If so, how were they?

Any advice you guys can give would really help.

thanks in advance

Most of the courses are just money makers and you won't learn enough to become an electrician and certainly not looked upon as one by anyone on here.

the best way would be to try and get some experience helping out as a mate, from there try and get an adult apprenticeship which would allow you to train for an NVQ level 3! This is how I became qualified.

When I signed up for college theirs 18 level 1 16-18 year olds we don't have to pay the government does
And in the 19+ class their is about 5 people
I think colleges have to take a certin amount of 16-18 year olds so most are given to them
