Hi i have finished a small private job in a house fitting a new lighting circuit and a new ring circuit. and a few other little bits.

i have my 2392 but am yet to hear from my 2391. i carried out all work myself and as this is my first private job i am unsure as how to certificate it.

i am not yet registered with elecsa, nic, ect.

i am a competent tester and have all correct testing equipment.

any help would be much appreciated.

yes thats the plan i have a meeting with elecsa in month or so.

i can get the eic from local wholesalers right? and then just give the building control the certifictes that right? sorry needed to know whole process lol

hello ch657
im with Elecsa they will require at least a CU change for assesment. Not sure if there are any downloads on hear for certs if not go to IET website and use their download for all certs then you can fill them in and print off.
cheers

I'd check with Elecsa but I think you'll find that running 2 complete new circuits will be sufficient. Make sure that the CU and bonding are up to date though.

hi ccfc how is elecsa? i have a consumer unit change to do in a week anyway so i think i am using that :) looking forward to starting out should be exiting and a new challenge. thanks for all your help guys. really appreciated.

The problem, you have, is that you should have pre-notified the work.
If you try to hand over your EICs to Building Control, they won't just accept them, unless your very lucky.
Most LABCs charge more for notifications that are made after the work has been carried out.
Your best option, is to wait untill you are registered, and then notify through your scheme.

Ive only just joined them but so far all good.Guy i had for assesment made it really easy put me at my ease straight away. The tech help line is very useful they know about real sparkying as they have done it all before.

spin as it is an extension the builder has building control coming to inspect in couple days and he is very matey with the bloke so i think i should be ok. he seems to think that anyway.

sounds good ccfc hopefuly get a guy similar lol what happend in your assessment then? did he ask many questions??

Yeh lots of questions on BS7671,building regs, bit on circuit design, checking certs, test and inspect , what qualifications, insurance, took about 3hrs in total 21/2 of that at home about 1/2 at job asked to do ZE ,PFC, RCD, tests explain RFC test, IR and ZS values. If you know what your doning no probs.Compared to C&G 2391 a doddle.
cheers
