Hi,
I'm seeking some advice on getting a real start within the electrical installation trade;
I previously worked in the bar industry doing management, not knowing what I wanted to do for a career; a year and a half ago I packed that in and started labouring to get into trade work and attending evening classes at Leeds College of Building studying my Level 2 In Electrical installation. I am very passionate about becoming a fully qualified electrician with my days at college being my highlight of each week and using my spare time researching more around the industry.
i realise that I need to gain a huge wealth of experience from a qualified electrician to even be taken seriously within this industry, I have looked at apprenticeships but at the age of 27 firstly it being hard to support myself on a apprentice wage, though it is something I am willing to do to get me where I want to be.
Can anyone give me some advice of getting my foot in the door working under and learning from a qualified electrician?
any help or contacts would be hugely appreciated.
