Hi,

I am in the process of having a new connection installed, At the moment ours is a shared supply. I have calculated the load to be @ 300a overall. I would like to know what size supply I should be asking the DNO for. 3 phase or single phase, the latter would mean extra work though.

Your help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Its a commercial premises (training centre).

Arrived at load by taking max load per item of equipment installed, but I have not applied any diversity.

Currently its on a 3 phase supply.

I originally asked for 100 KvA supply but the DNO are saying this is a large demand.

Perhaps a 75 KvA 3 phase supply is more like it?

Get yourself a qualified electrician in, to access your load and and correctly apply diversity. I think your going to be very surprised at the final figure, which will also probably save you a heap of cash as far as the DNO supplying those horrendous demand loads of yours.

What is the present supply rating, or the service head fuse ratings?? Even if they are 60A, you already have an available supply of 180A, which i wouldn't mind wagering, will in all probability cover your needs, and if not increasing to 80A, would!! lol!!!
