Now I've got my head round these silly worded questions, I may have a fighting chance of compleating this thing.
Below are the last few questions I am having trouble with can anyone help?:-
1) What are the impications on the choice of connections with regard to permanent or tempory purposes.

2)What are the requirements of joints and connections to be pf strenght and conductance to allow for the passage of fault currents and to provent corrosion.

3)What are the approved procedures and requirments for commissioning the installation.

4)What are the approved reporting procedures.

I hope you can help thank you for your time. Daz

Would be advised to put these in your own words

What are the implications on the choice of connections with regard to permanent or temporary purposes?

Any electrical termination must be mechanically strong and electrically sound and fit for purpose. Any screwed connection must be accessible. Only solid connections eg soldered, crimped, brazed, even welded, none of which need not be accessible.
All must have appropriate and adequate insulation to prevent ‘direct’ contact.
This applies to both temporary and permanent connections.
EAWR – Taped joints are not permitted.
What are the requirements of joints and connections to be of strength and conductance to allow for the passage of fault currents and to prevent corrosion?

Any joint or connection should not introduce any more resistance than that of the conductor itself. All terminations should be appropriate to the environment (eg high ambient temperatures). Where aluminium conductors are used appropriate terminations are needed to prevent corrosion.
All conductors and terminations should be designed and selected to be suitable for handling fault currents for the duration of the fault in compliance with BS 7671.
What are the approved procedures and requirements for commissioning the installation?

The inspector must be qualified to do so and to ensure that there is no danger to others during the testing and commissioning.
The installation is subjected to a visual inspection
The installation is tested in the correct sequence
The installation is then verified for the correct functions
The results of the inspection and test are handed on to the client
What are the approved reporting procedures?

BS 7671 part 7 outlines the levels and types of reports and certification that is required for installations. An electrical file contains all the diagrams and instructions together with the test result sheet should be handed to the person ordering the work and these should be kept for the life of the installation.
The types of certificates are: electrical installation certificate; a schedule of inspection and test results; periodic inspection report; minor works certificate; defects and omissions from the inspection and testing should also be covered by a certificate/statement.
There are available inspectorate bodies that provide the appropriate certificates and documentation that conform to the requirements of BS7671 (eg. NICEIC and NAPIT).
