Guys can somebody tell me if surge protected extension leads should have a connection between neutral and earth?I'm trying to find a fault on a ring in an old house if multiple occupancy, N-E and L-E insulation resistance came back 0.4megohm, I traced it to the above lead which was connected straigt into a JB, no plug, I tested the flex of the device separately and that's fine, but should the workings of the device give me the above IR reading when testing N-E and L-E.I feel I should know this but I just don'tCheers

surge protection devices are known to give poor IR readings. as most electronic circuits.
