Hi i am look at taking the EAL Certificate for Domestic Electrical Installers from these people Shropshire Building Skills - Electrical Courses the price to me seems quite reasonable at ÂŁ795 however i am a little unsure as what this could lead to in terms of qualifications any help or guidance would be highly appreciated i spoke to a lady on the phone she wasn't much help tho to be honest.

As far as im aware mate, it wont lead to anything, the EAL is not a stepping stone qualification like the C&G Quals, the EAL just gives you the opportunity to join a scheme that speeds up the notification process when to building control when doing domestical work

To be a qualified electrician you still need the City and Guilds 2330 Levels 2 and 3, 2382 17th Edition and the 2392 or pref the 2391 Inspection and Testing, these quals would cover you for domestical work and would take anywhere from 3-5 years to obtain if you trained at college or maybe 2 years is you paid an absolute fortune and fastracked yourself, ÂŁ6000+, i wouldndt recoment you learn that way
