Hi folks.

Sorry if posted in the wrong forum but I'm a newbie looking for advice.

I have purchased an induction hob (Total Kw 7.2kw) and an oven 2.4kw which both require hardwiring to an isolator on the wall. When my electrician fitted the rewire, he ran a 6mm cable to the spur switch and then to the isolator (under 2metres) where the hob/oven are. My question. Can I run both hob AND cooker into the isolator on the wall on 6mm cable and a 32amp breaker at the c/u both conventionally and legally? Pending checks once installed obviously...

Bear in mind that the chances of all 4 rings on the hob and cooker being used at once is very slim. All I need to know is is it legal and safe to do this. I know 10mm cable is preferable but it might be a big job to do this now... Can I just upgrade the breaker?

Thanks for your time
Chris

7.2kw add 2.4 kw = ...., divide by 230 = ...., take first 10A and 30% of the remainder and add 5A if cooker switch incorparates a socket outlet, then this will be your Ib , then you choose In wich will be equal or greater than Ib, then you choose It and this will be equal or greater than In
