hello ive just started working for myself reg with napit full scope regarding pricing how much would you charge for PIR, hourly rate etc.

Best way to cost a PIR is price per circuit. I would normally cost it between 25-30 pound a circuit for industrial/commercial, domestic would be slightly cheaper perhaps 20 pound.

Then you will have to agree what to do with small remedials or extras, such as if you find a cracked socket or face plate, you can factor these in the price per circuit or agree with the client cost of accessories plus 15% to fit.

Make sure if your doing commercial/industrial or even in some larger domestic you highlight in your quote that you will only be testing the fixed installation and not the actual fire alarm, emergency lighting, if you can do these then you put that as an extra on your quote.

This is an area that i find hard too, have just done a quote for some work in a factory unit. They asked me to quote for several bits of work, not as a job lot which is where i have fell foul before. Had i quoted for the lot as 3 or 4 days work, and then they decide only to do bits and pieces, I lose out! IE travelling time etc! So, for the one i have just done, i have added a little bit onto each seperate price to allow for that! Just in case!

The ÂŁ20 per circuit for PIRs is probably the best way forward!

I also have fixed prices for items such as sockets, spurs, downlights etc in domestic dwellings, although its quite easy to lose out time wise on some as they are harder to do!

Does anyone on here have a spread sheet they would be willing to share for quotes? Or Access Database?

Cheers
