Hi All,
New member here, getting some major electrical work done at my family home with a full renovation. I am fairly competent when it comes to electricals/tech but in no way shape or form am i an electrician or remotely close to leaving that to the specialists. I am in another place whilst the renovation happens and i bought a shelly 2.5 (2 channel relay for smart lighting) to see how it works and if its worth me installing. The wiring diagram is below:
I am fairly confident as to how i wire this shelly up, as simple as neutral from back box into N, two wires from SW1 and SW2 into Switched on a light switch (L2 on the two switches), 01 and 02 to the two Light connections (wires that were originally in L1 on the light switches) and L is the live from switch (bridged to connect both) or if two lives, one into each.
I have opened up my light switch and i am now very confused as all cables are brown and wiring seems weird. Images attached.
Im confused what is what. The earth connections are on the backbox so nothing to be done. The neutrals (4x blue ones) go into a chocoblock (unsure why there are 4 but ok as i just need to add a blue from the chocobloc to N on Shelly. Im more confused on the Live wires on my 2gang1way switch.
I can see there are two switches next to each other (in Y and reverse Y order). On the Left hand side at the top i have one wire in L1 (which i assume is LIVE) and another going into L2 at the bottom on the left (which i assume is switched live to bulb 1). Correct me if i am mistaken here.
On the right i have a wire into L2 at the top right which i assume is the switched live (to bulb 2). I then have L1 at the bottom right (which i assume is LIVE). Again correct me if i am wrong here.
First, am i correct on the above, and secondly, why is L1 (top left) which is assume is LIVE for switch one connected to L2 (top right) which i assume is SWITCHED LIVE for switch 2?
Any wiring help would be appreciated. Just want to wire up to see how the unit works and if worthwhile asking electricians to install in my main house.
Thanks in Advance!
