Hi i have this question that i am not sure of the answer. Can you please Help?

State the effect on measured resistance when cables are connected in parallel.

Answer:

The resistance value will be reduced. For example in resistance for Zs testing in ohms has a measured value that is less than the calculated value used by Ze+(R1+R2). The parallel paths is provided by any extraneous conductive parts.

I have the books OSG, Wiring 17th Edition, and GN3.

Thanx a million.

correct, you have answered your own question. the reading will be inaccurate due to parallel resistance according to the formula
R= ( R1xR2)/(R1+R2) where R is your reading, R1 is the true Zs, R2 is the parallel path resistance. Put some values in and see how the result is different
