i have just recently completed my 2392, 17th edition, and builing regs along with a few small courses. i am looking to set up myself as self employed straight away. my 2391 is booked for october.

i have about a year in experiance working for others but i am looking for some general tips on being self employed.

how to go about joining the niceic?

i also have 2 house rewire jobs which i am going to be starting next week and any tips on any of this would be appreciated?

thanks

Look in the business section of the forum or do a search on self employment - there have a been a number of threads recently.

You'll need to join Elecsa, Napit or NICEIC and you should call each of them/look at their webites

Good luck!

Look for your local Business Link - they do free/cheap courses on setting up a small business/self-employed - marketing, accounts, etc. Worth the time and effort and you get to meet others just starting out in their own businesses so it's a good networking opportunity as well. And meeting others in the same boat you know you're not alone - and self-employment can be a very lonely place sometimes
