Hi I am currently training for my 17th edition but am having trouble understanding the layout of the 7671 can anyone give me some advice thanks

it's divided into chapters, then each chapter into sections. memorise which section deals with which topic and you'll find it easy.

Get to understand the numbering system thoroughly.

As an example, Part 4 is "Protection for Safety", then Chapter 41 (in Part 4) is "Protection against Electric Shock", then Section 411 is "Protective Measure: ADS", with various sub-sections.

Then when you get to the special locations, for example 701.411.3.3 is a section in Section 701 which refers back to 411.3.3 "Additional protection by RCDs".

Once you get familar with the numbering of parts, chapters and sections, and this referencing back, you start to see how really well organised the document is!

And if you don't understand some of the terms, look in the Glossary near the beginning.

The main index is at the begining of the book for each chapter with the main topics, but go to each chapter and the the chapter index breaks down the contents to smaller sections.
