Hey everyone i have a couple of questions about bonding and the running of a 1.5mm cable.

I know you earth the towel rad, bath and hold and cold pipes in a bathroom, but am i right in saying i dont need to sup bond the pipes or anything in the kitchen?

Also can i run a 1.5mm lighting cable for a 1 metre cable run in a 3 by 3 inch box section with the gas pipe in that supplys the boiler.

Thanks.

Sup bonding not required if protected by r.c.d. If carrying out any work to the circuit in question then chances are you will have to protect it by an r.c.d. Nothing wrong with running the cables up the boxing if they are properly supported... NOT cable tied to the gas pipe!!!

There must be a separation of 25mm between gas pipes and cables.(OSG 2.3).
You are mixed up on supplementary bonding.
Supplementary bonding is only required in special locations as defined in Bs 7671 which does not include kitchens.
Supplementary bonding may be omitted in bath/shower rooms provided-
1. All circuits in the bath/shower room are RCD protected
2. Required disconnection times are met for all circuits within the bath/shower room.
3. A continuity reading is obtained of <1667 ohms between conductive parts and extraneous conductive parts within the bath/shower room.
Regs 701.415.2

Extraneous conductive parts are metallic services entering the special location, generally metal baths and sinks are not extraneous conductive parts unless they are in contact with structural metallic parts of the building, unlikely in a domestic situation
