Hi all

i know this isnt in the alarms thread but i cant get access to it :-/

Im looking to install an additional remote keypad for a mate in his garage ( so he can set it from the house ) .

its a : accenta 8ep 396 optima compact g3 .

Now where can i find a panel that will go with it ? or will any work ?

i know this panel can have a remote panel as i have downloaded the manual, just cant seem to find a specific panel that is meant for this panel.

any help is much appd :)

I am sure the Accenta LED keypad will work but do not think I have tried it with that particular panel. Try one of the better Accenta suppliers and phone them, they should be able to tell you. I know on some of the Accenta series they had to be after a certain date to support a remote keypad.

Edit - Agghhh someone can type faster.

out of interest , what deos backwards compatible mean ? i mean if i mount it backwards you wont be able to push the buttons ......:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3::laugh3:

Haha, yes, very true.

Backwards compatible means that the G4 (generation 4) parts and accessories will work with G3 (generation 3) panels. The panel your mate has got is generation 3 so you need either a generation 3 keypad (chances of you getting hold of an old G3 keypad are slim to none), or a generation 4 keypad that is backwards compatible.

i thought i was backwards compatible, but then i re-read my school report and the teacher had wrote backward, complete waste.

The previous bell box worked fine. I think it was just lacking the added security of anti tamper. Can this one be wired the same?
