hey guys just been sent a picture of a Board a customer needs changing tomorrow. I believe the grey one is a old 4 way board. But unsure what the one on the right is? Any ideas not ever come across one before.

Without having sight of the entire issue, I think the grey MEM could be a switch fuse, and the cream colored box looks like an old MEM fuse board, what makes me wonder though are the large cables entering the cream box, difficult to say unless you are there. Looking at the labels on the cream box, makes me rethink could be some sort of DNO intake box of some sort, but as someone has already mentioned, you need to get there and get eyes on yourself.

This is all I’ve got to go on sorry guys I have asked for a couple more photos. I know it would be better to investigate but can’t get there today so a little confused

The grey could be an old style 4 way fuse board, typically 2x 30amp and 2 x 5 amp or a fused isolator.(edited in the isolator option after initial post as spinlondons post reminded me)

The white one may be your issue, the DNO might own this, note the seal sticker on the side, can you expand on this picture?... You may need to get your local electricity board in to upgrade their side of the supply and given its age it should be free, although without seeing the bigger picture they may have already upgraded and just left that in for convenience. Pic's off the meter and cutout would be good here, also seems to be looping in and out the top so does this feed another DB?

Need to see whats above it and do sort the earthing out, the beige and grey boxes look joined by a coupler, could be a splitter or contains the main fuse can't tell if the screw is sealed or if the label says "do not remove property of --- company"

Is it a flat or a house that has been split in to flats as in the past they would come up with weird combinations to split the incoming supply.

Go in to any basement of a large house in Highgate that has been converted to 6 flats in the 60's and 70's and you will understand.

Could be supply somehow in to the beige box, tails to meter then from meter via the beige box through coupler to feed the grey box, but I am assuming so you need to go to site to do a visual check.

Do need to see more of the whole arrangement.
eg What are those cables coiled up and wrapped in red tape at the top of the picture?
What's that loop of cable coming out of the grey fuse box?
Where do those two tails go from the beige box, is one 24hour, one off peak.

I really think you need to get more info, or visit. Anything else is a bit

Guys like I said I’ve requested some more pictures. it needs to be done urgently but can’t get to address today was hoping someone had seen this before. I don’t want to get to job and DNO needs to upgrade supply that’s my gut feeling. I’ll keep you updated if I get some more pictures
