Hi,

I have been assisting an electrician on Saturdays for about four months now. I have been slowly studying my Basic Electrical Installation Work lv2 book as background reading but now feel I should look to gain some proper qualifications if only to make myself more useful to him. I understand that I am fairly privileged being paid to work in an area where I have no formal training or experience and want to capitalise while I can. I have spent a few hours trawling the internet C&G2357 lvl2 looks good but I need to be able to study part time in the evenings (I work full time in my day job) and can not find anywhere local (East Sussex) that offers the course on these terms. Are there shorter alternative courses that I should be looking for? Any helpful suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Most colleges are still signing up for 2330 Level 2 and the ones that I've had dealing with don't really know much about the 2357.

I'm 99% sure colleges will be offering the 2357 on an evening basis... when they sort them selves out!

Is it the Linsley book you've been reading....... Excellent choice!

Yes, Trevor Linsley books, have level 2 and level 3.

I have managed to find an evening course at City College Brighton "Electrotechnical systems and Equipment Installation (Buildings, Structures and the Environment) CG2357-13 – Diploma Year 1" guess that's what I was looking for, anyway application form being filled in tonight.
