Help with CV

D

Del007

My current job is up in August so I'm wanting to send out my cv soon in the hope of getting another job.

The following is an example of my cv.

  • My duties here included:
- Working from drawings.
- Installing cable tray, trunking and conduit.
- Running and terminating 3 phase, low voltage and extra low voltage cables.
- I worked well as part of a team and also work well individually
- Examples of cables used include SWA, NYMJ, Cat 6, Cat 6e, Fiber optic.

I would love some comments on this, be as critical as possible.

Cheers for your help

Mate, I was always taught that the secret to a good CV, is to keep it short and concise - directed at the job that you are looking to apply to. For instance swap I can do conduit, tray etc. For I am experience in installing all of the various cable containment systems. Running 3 phase cable for I have experience of the installation of SWA/MICCC/FP cable. Try to put your key skills into bullet points. There are masses of sites that could give you some excellent examples of what you should be doing.
I cannot stress this enough - USE KEY PHASES AND BUZZWORDS. A glance though the definitions of the regs and guidance note 3 has plenty to offer.
Good luck and don't bull****.
