Hello all...

This may sound like a bit of a daft question but I am about to fill out my first EIC along with the schedule of inspections and test results and I just wanted to know if I put the same form number for all 3 forms as they are all part of the same install (which I think makes sense) or if they have seperate numbers as they are different forms (i.e forms 1,3 and 4)

Hope that makes sense.

I just dont want to start my ledger incorrectly.

Thanks.

I'd give each job a reference number and write it on each document relating to it so quotes drawings invoices and any correspondence can be traced in case they ever get mixed up but the EIC, SoI and SOTR should be numbered 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3.

You may want to consider including the date in the number, so as to disguise the fact that this is your first EIC.
2012-01 or 2012-10-01 might look better than 0000001.

Thanks all,

I thought that made sense.

Thats exactly what I had in mind Spinlondon 'SDE2012-2210-01'.

My first form, I feel like a proud father - I may get it framed

I don't know that I'd bother with the actual date of the day '2210-01', is it likely that you will be doing more than one EIC on a single day?

Good point, highly unlikely I'd say.

I number my certs with a customer number and number of cert for that customer. So the second cert for customer No. 89 would be 089-02. All my paperwork has the customer number in the top RH corner and is filed by customer. Then if I get another call from someone, I can grab almost everything relating to them, and if the customer moves away or I've had no contact for a few years, I can archive it all together.
